The 6x6x5 mm Tactile Push Button switch is widely used as a standard input "button" on electronic projects. This button is breadboard friendly, making it easy to use during prototyping. The pins are normally open (disconnected) and when the button is pressed, they are temporarily closed and complete the circuit. This version only has 2 pins. For most projects this is sufficient.
