
Description Bambu Lab Filament Track Switch
The Bambu Lab Filament Track Switch distributes filament to two nozzles. The module is placed between the AMS system and the printer. This allows a connected AMS to supply filament to both nozzles.
Normally, each AMS is connected to a single nozzle. The filament in that AMS can then only be guided to that nozzle. Sometimes the desired filament is in the wrong AMS. You must then move the spool or PTFE tubing yourself.
The Filament Track Switch prevents this. The module has two inputs and two outputs. An internal system automatically selects the correct filament path.
Bambu Studio can assign any available filament to the left or right nozzle. This is called dynamic filament assignment. As a result, you need to take the distribution of spools across the AMS systems less into account.
This feature is particularly useful for prints with multiple colors or materials. The printer can adjust the filament path during the job. You do not need to redistribute the spools across the AMS systems first.
The Filament Track Switch is now compatible with the Bambu Lab X2D and H2C. Bambu Lab has announced support for the H2D. A future firmware update is required for this.

You are using the module in combination with an AMS system. An external filament roller cannot be connected at the same time. This roller would occupy one extruder channel. Dynamic filament assignment would then no longer work.
One AMS can send filament to both nozzles. The nozzles are used sequentially. The AMS cannot supply both nozzles with filament simultaneously.
Additional 4-in-1 PTFE adapters are required for three or more AMS systems. Use these adapters only when necessary. Each additional adapter increases resistance in the filament path. This can make loading and retracting filament more difficult.
Follow the Bambu Lab manual during assembly. Use the prescribed lengths for the PTFE tubing. Also ensure that the cables and tubing can move freely.
