The sensor comes as a small, hard to solder chip. That's why it's placed on a breakout board. An LED has been added to the IRQ line. It flashes when touched, which makes debugging easier. The board comes fully assembled, with a strip of 0.1" headers. That way you can plug it into a breadboard.
