The 1 Wire Pi Plus from AB Electronics is a communication board. It enables communication via the 1-Wire® protocol with Raspberry Pi Zero . There is also a 5V buffered I2C port. The addon board can be mounted using the mounting kit.
The 1-Wire® port on the 1 Wire Pi plus is based on a DS2482-100 I2C to 1-Wire® bridge device. The SD2482-100 provides bi-directional protocol conversion between the I2C port on the Pi and any 1-Wire® slave device. There is also an ESD protection diode. This is to protect the boards from electrostatic spikes on the 1-Wire® port. Connections to the 1-Wire® port can be made via the RJ-12 connector. There are also a number of solder points available to solder a cable to.
The 1 Wire Pi Plus is powered by the Raspberry Pi Zero using the GPIO port. The extra pins allow you to stack the 1 Wire Pi Plus with other expansion boards.
There is a 5V input port which allows you to connect an external power supply to the 1-Wire® interface. This reduces the load on the Raspberry Pi Zero . If you choose to use this input, remove the Jumper Cap on the board.
