The Tracopower TSR 1 series are non-isolated step-down switching regulators. These DC-to-DC converters are a drop-in replacement for inefficient 78xx linear regulators. A high efficiency of up to 96% allows full load operation. This up to an ambient temperature of 60 °C without the need for a heat sink or forced cooling . The TSR 1 switching regulators offer many important features over linear regulators . Such as a better output accuracy (± 2%), a lower standby current of 2 mA and no requirement for external capacitors .
