Description Lock-style Solenoid 12VDC

The Solenoid is an electric lock. The lock can be used for different things such as: a safe, kitchen cabinets and a door. as soon as there is no power on the lock then on closed, as soon as the 9-12VDC is applied the metal is pulled back and that means that the lock is open so then your door can open.

The Solenoid has a piece of metal in it that can turn 90, 180 or 270 degrees and you do that by unscrewing it and then you can place it in so that it fits exactly on your installation.

To drive a solenoid you will need an Arduino or other microcontroller. You will need a reasonably good power supply to drive a solenoid as there will be a lot of current flowing into the solenoid to charge the electromagnet, around 500mA, so don't try to power it from a 9V battery!
