The Pimorono SHIM format boards are designed to fit perfectly onto the Pi's GPIO pins. Additionally, a HAT or pHAT can be placed on the Raspberry Pi . You can also solder the female header to the Button SHIM and use it as a standalone board. The buttons and status LED protrude from the top edge of the Pi. This makes them easily accessible.
