Bambu Lab PA6-GF is Nylon 6 with glass fibers. This filament is intended for parts subjected to heavy loads, such as clamps, brackets, mounting plates, and machine parts. The material is stiff and retains its shape better than many standard filaments. As a result, it is suitable for workpieces that must fit precisely and must not "give way."
PA6-GF is particularly interesting if you make prints that you wouldn't normally make in PLA. For example, a screw-on part, a bracket that supports a motor, or an accessory that is used every day. Thanks to the glass fibers, the material is harder and more stable. You notice this in practice: your part feels sturdier and holds its dimensions better.
This variant is Orange – with spool – 1KG. With a spool means you can print immediately. You place the roll in your printer or AMS and you are ready. Orange is also simply convenient. You spot parts on the workbench faster. And you recognize jigs, templates, and attachments right away. That saves searching and prevents mix-ups.
Nylon does require discipline. PA6-GF absorbs moisture from the air quickly. And moisture shows up in your print. You are more likely to get a rougher surface, less clean layers, or weaker areas. That is why drying is important. Bambu advises drying the filament before use and storing it dry afterwards. If you do this properly, you will get much more consistent results.
If you want to print PA6-GF really neatly, choose the right nozzle. Bambu recommends 0.6 mm. This provides a stable flow and reduces the risk of problems. Additionally, use glue on a suitable plate so that your print adheres well and does not come loose during printing.
