This is the Kitronik Smart Greenhouse Kit for the BBC micro:bit. It offers an exciting way to learn about the relationship between plants and their environment. The user learns to monitor environmental conditions. After this, you will learn how to create an automated system that responds to these environmental conditions . You can program the smart greenhouse to monitor and automatically water your plants . This will help you grow them to perfection. The kit is compatible with both the micro:bit V1 and V2. (These are sold separately)

The kit includes a two-piece plastic greenhouse, Kitronik environmental control board, water pump, ZIP LED Stick and a Prong soil moisture sensor . You also get 5 crocodile clips, a ZIP LED extension cable and a screwdriver. All you need is a micro:bit, seeds and water.

The kit comes with a detailed assembly and coding manual. This will get you up and running with the kit in no time. There are 7 makecode tutorials online that build in complexity as you go . You will learn everything from collecting sensor data to making the system respond automatically .

This kit does not come with a BBC micro:bit. It works with a BBC micro:bit V1 or V2
This kit is not waterproof. If you get the board wet, turn it off and let it dry completely. The risk of shock is very small, but be careful.
Due to electrolysis and a humid environment, the electrodes on the mini moisture sensor will slowly degrade over time. Please refer to our general safety advisory document for more information.
