Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ Description

The Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ connects M.2 peripherals such as NVMe drives and AI accelerators to the Raspberry Pi 5’s PCIe 2.0 interface. This interface provides fast data transfer speeds of up to 500MB/s between NVMe drives and other PCIe accessories. The Raspberry Pi 5’s single-track PCI Express 2.0 interface is accessible through a 16-pin, 0.5mm-pitch FPC connector. The M.2 HAT+ M Key acts as an adapter board that converts this connector to a subset of the M.2 standard. It supports devices with the M.2 M-key edge connector in both the 2230 and 2242 formats. It supplies up to 3A of power to connected M.2 devices.

The Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ complies with the Raspberry Pi HAT+ specification and is automatically detected by the latest Raspberry Pi software and firmware. It comes with a 16mm stacking header and threaded spacers. This allows it to be mounted on a Raspberry Pi 5 with the Raspberry Pi Active Cooler installed.
