Raspberry Pi LiPo SHIM Description
This LiPo SHIM offers a convenient way to power your Raspberry Pi boards using LiPo/Lilon batteries. It is always difficult to have a discreet and neat power supply. The LiPo SHIM aims to provide your Pi with the most compact power supply.
You can solder the 0.8mm thick PCB directly to the GPIO pins on the Pi for a permanent solution . Alternatively, you can solder the supplied 2x6 Female Pin headers to the SHIM. This allows you to remove the SHIM from the Pi at any time. This will block further use of those GPIO pins though.
The SHIM uses the Texas Instruments TPS61232 step-up boost converter which offers up to 96% efficiency . The board features LEDs which indicate when the board is powered on and when the battery is low.
Safety Note! Use this SHIM with LiPo or LiIon batteries only. Make sure any project involving LiPos is adequately protected from denting, bending, puncturing or crushing . Additionally, this SHIM is not battery rechargeable and you will need a separate charger for the battery.
