Description Formlabs Form Wash V2
The Formlabs Form Wash V2 is a washing machine for resin parts from the Form 4. You use the machine after printing to wash away excess resin. The automatic cycle provides a fixed step in post-processing. This helps with prototypes and small series that you want to finish in the same way.
After a resin print, liquid resin remains on the surface. A washing step removes this layer. This is important for sharp details and a neat finish. Only after washing and drying should you proceed with curing. Use the wax liquid prescribed by Formlabs for each resin.
Prepare for the wash cycle before removing the part from the printer. Check the fluid level and the condition of the bath. A heavily soiled bath can leave resin on the part. Refill or replace the fluid according to the maintenance instructions. Then select the wash time that suits the material and your model.
Position the part so that the liquid can reach all surfaces. Pay extra attention to hollow models, small holes, and deep recesses. Resin can remain there. Check that openings are large enough for proper rinsing. Use the appropriate holder or build platform according to the machine instructions. Do not exceed the permitted size of the wash chamber.
After washing, check the part for residue. Then allow it to dry completely according to the material instructions. Residual liquid can affect the curing result. Allow hollow parts sufficient time to drain. Remove supports when Formlabs advises for your material.
A consistent working method helps when processing multiple parts in succession. Always use the same setting for the same material and model type. Note any changes in wash time. Also keep track of when you maintain the bath. This way, you can find the cause of a defective finish more quickly. Check the result on a test part first before processing an entire series.
Form Wash V2 is suitable for a workspace with the build size of the Form 4. Check the compatibility of the holder used before you start. The machine performs the washing step. For subsequent curing, you need a suitable Form Cure. You select the washing liquid and curing equipment separately, unless your bundle already includes them.
