The Adafruit TSSP77038 is a simple infrared sensor for various projects. This sensor has no filtering and gives the demodulated 38KHz signal directly.
Vishay designed these sensors for "Reflective Detection, Light Barriers, and High Speed Proximity Applications". They are ideal for projects that require a simple IR decoder. Also suitable for proximity projects without a complex sensor. The TSSP77038 works well for interrupt bars with modulated IR light. This way you are not affected by other IR signals or changes in ambient light.
The breakout board is easy to assemble with mounting holes and a cable. With a 2mm pitch STEMMA JST PH cable, you can easily connect the board without soldering. This sensor is perfect for proximity detection or interrupt bar projects. Although it can receive 38KHz IR signals, it lacks filters which can cause interference signals.
Each STEMMA board is fully assembled and tested, but is supplied without a cable. No soldering is required, but you will need a 2mm pitch, 3-pin STEMMA JST PH cable. If you do want to solder, there is a 0.1" header for power, ground, and signal.
