The Waveshare Modbus PoE ETH Relay 30CH is an industrial-grade 30-channel relay module controlled via Ethernet. It's useful for centrally switching multiple outputs in a control cabinet, such as test setups or building and process automation. You use Modbus commands to switch relays on and off. You can also read their status. This can be done via Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP.

The power supply is flexible. You can power the module via PoE (IEEE 802.3af). This allows data and power to be transferred over a single network cable. If PoE is not available, you can use DC power. This can be done via the power port (power plug) or the screw terminal. The input is DC 7–36V, making it suitable for many installations.

The relay contacts are designed for more demanding switching tasks. The contact rating is up to 10A at 250VAC, or up to 10A at 30VDC. This allows you to switch 230V equipment within the rating, for example. DC loads up to 30V are also possible. Multiple status LEDs provide quick status updates, which is useful during installation and maintenance. Everything is housed in an ABS housing for rail mounting. It can be mounted on a DIN rail.

Besides Modbus, the communication module also supports other network modes and protocols. You can use TCP Server and TCP Client. UDP and UDP Multicast are also supported. HTTP and MQTT are also available. Configuration can be done via software or a web browser. DHCP and DNS are also supported, making integration into existing networks easier.
