The BME688 is a 4-in-1 gas sensor with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and integrated high-linearity and high-precision pressure, humidity and temperature sensors. This sensor can be easily customized for specific applications. Such as detecting (unpleasant) odors, forest fires, and so on. The main idea behind Grove is to simplify the process of building electronic circuits by eliminating the need for soldering or complex wiring. The sensor is trainable to detect different gas mixtures and their presence using Bosch's AI Studio. It measures gas, humidity, temperature and barometric pressure.Due to the precise pressure measurements, it is also possible to use it as an altimeter with an accuracy of ±1 meter or better. The BME688 sensor is backwards compatible with the BME680.Compared to the BME680, it features an additional gas scanning function with low power consumption (3.9 mA in standard gas scanning mode).
