The Adafruit PyGamer is the perfect portable game console for DIY gaming and retro emulation enthusiasts. It is open source and versatile. This console supports CircuitPython, MakeCode Arcade, and Arduino. The PyGamer is powered by the ATSAMD51 chip, with 512KB of flash and 192KB of RAM. There is also 8MB of QSPI flash for storing files. Such as images, fonts, sounds, or game assets.
On the front you will find a 1.8" 160x128 color TFT display. The display has dimmable backlighting. The display has fast DMA support for lightning fast updates. The dual potentiometer analog joystick offers excellent control in every direction. There are four square buttons, arranged like a gaming handheld. Two buttons are for menu selection and two for action. There are also 5 NeoPixel LEDs for visual effects.
The PyGamer has a light sensor on the front and a 3-axis accelerometer. For sound you can connect stereo headphones or one of our 8 ohm speakers. The PyGamer automatically switches to headphones when connected. You can power the PyGamer with any LiPoly battery. The on/off switch saves battery when not in use. You can also power it via Micro USB port. This also charges the battery when connected.
