The Adafruit Micro Lipo - LiIon/LiPoly Charger - v2 is the smallest charger for lithium-polymer and lithium-ion batteries. This handy charger fits easily into any project kit. It's easy to use. Plug the gold-plated contacts into a USB port and connect a 3.7V/4.2V rechargeable battery to the JST connector. The charger has two LEDs - one red and one green. While charging, the red LED is lit. When the battery is fully charged, the green LED is lit. It couldn't be easier.
Charging is done in three stages. First a preconditioning charge, followed by a constant current for fast charging, and finally a constant voltage for trickle charging to keep the battery fully charged. The charging current is 100mA by default, so it works with any battery and USB port. If you want, you can easily change the charging current to 500mA by sliding the switch on top to "High / 500mA". This is ideal for batteries of 500mAh or larger.
The charger is designed for use with Adafruit LiPoly/LiIon batteries. Other batteries may have different voltages, chemistry, polarity or pinout. The charger comes with a free JST cable and is fully assembled and tested.
