The Raspberry Pi does not come with a housing as standard. However, it is recommended to use a housing. You don't want your board to get dusty. Thanks to a housing , the components are also much better protected. At the same time, the Raspberry Pi can also withstand a knock better. Cool your Raspberry Pi !

The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B has a much more powerful CPU than previous models.
Unfortunately, the heat distribution has not improved. This makes it almost necessary to connect an additional cooling, such as a fan .
If you do not have any cooling connected to your Raspberry Pi , and you are working normally, you will probably soon get one of the two messages shown here on the right. If you ignore these warnings, it is possible that the Pi will shut itself down.

Raspbian
