Meet the Adafruit TSL2591, a future-proof digital light sensor. This sensor has an unprecedentedly high dynamic range. It is perfect for a wide range of lighting conditions. With a precision that surpasses regular CdS cells, this sensor provides precise lux values. It adapts to various light levels, from 188 uLux all the way up to 88,000 Lux.
What makes this sensor unique is the combination of infrared and full spectrum diodes. This allows you to measure infrared, full spectrum or visible light separately. This provides a more accurate image than many other sensors, which often only detect one type of light.
The TSL2591 continues where the TSL2561 left off, with a wider range. Note that the I2C address is fixed. The sensor works with almost any microcontroller, thanks to the built-in ADC. It also has low power consumption, ideal for low-power data logging systems.
Thanks to STEMMA QT connectors, soldering is a thing of the past. Simply connect the sensor with a plug-and-play cable for direct data. A STEMMA QT adapter cable makes installation even easier. Please note that the QT cable is available separately.
